Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.

Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.

The Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), www.ceph.org, Board of Councilors acted at its August 26, 2021, meeting to accredit Chamberlain University's College of Health Professions Master of Public Health (MPH) program for a five-year term.

The accreditation term extends until December 31, 2026, pending the program's continued documentation of compliance as required by the Council. The effective date of the program's initial accreditation is December 16, 2019. CEPH is an independent agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and programs of public health. CEPH assures quality in public health education and training to achieve excellence in practice, research and service, through collaboration with organizational and community partners. Chamberlain University’s Master of Social Work degree program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation. 

Accreditation of a master’s social work program by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of program quality evaluated through a peer review process.  An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals and the Commission on Accreditation has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all sections of the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards. 

Accreditation applies to all program sites and program delivery methods of an accredited program.  Accreditation provides reasonable assurance about the quality of the program and the competence of students graduating from the program.

Alabama

State approval of a program to offer Alabama licensed nurses opportunities for advanced degrees does not indicate eligibility for approval to practice as an advanced practice nurse in Alabama. Applicants for approval in Alabama are required to meet the Alabama requirements for national certification, graduation from a specific-type program for the advanced practice approval and completion of the appropriate application. Any program offering a pre-licensure track to Alabama students shall meet the requirements of the Alabama regulations for pre-licensure programs or the graduates may not be eligible to take the national licensure examination required by the Alabama Board of Nursing to enter the practice. www.abn.alabama.gov

Alaska

Chamberlain University has been issued an exemption by the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education. Chamberlain’s programs are exempt from authorization under AS 14.48 and 20 AAC 17.015 because the programs are online or distance delivered and do not have a physical presence in the state.

Arizona

Arkansas

Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board certification does not constitute an endorsement of any institution, course or degree program.  Such certification merely indicates that certain minimum standards have been met under the rules and regulations of institutional certification as defined in Arkansas Code §6-61-301.

 

California

Chamberlain College of Nursing is a private institution approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Approval to operate means the institution is compliant with the minimum standards contained in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (as amended) and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations. Is Chamberlain an accredited university?

Yes, Chamberlain is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (www.hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Chamberlain University's BSN, MSN, DNP and post graduate APRN certificate programs are accredited by the CCNE and the DNP program is accredited by CNEA. Our MPH program has received accreditation for a five-year term from the CEPH. The MSW Program has achieved Candidacy for Accreditation by the CSWE.

What is Institutional Accreditation?

The HLC reviews the education offered by Chamberlain University to determine if it meets certain criteria. According to the HLC, “Institutional accreditation assesses the capacity of an institution to assure its own quality and expects it to produce evidence that it does so. The responsibility for assuring the quality of an institution rests first with the institution itself."

HLC accreditation is evidence that Chamberlain meets all the standards of an institution that is able to confer legitimate academic degrees.

What is Program Accreditation?

The baccalaureate degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing and doctor of nursing practice degree programs at Chamberlain are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The CCNE ensures the quality and integrity of baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs in nursing. Chamberlain College of Nursing must also obtain approval from the requisite state authorization agencies/bodies, such as the Board of Higher Education and the Board of Nursing.

The doctor of nursing practice degree program is accredited by the NLN Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).

The CNEA promotes excellence and integrity in nursing education globally through a values-driven accreditation process.
